Há uns meses encontrei uns tecidos especiais. Quando toquei neles e senti um algodão fino e suave, pensei imediatamente que seriam perfeitos como écharpes. Foi assim que surgiu esta pequena colecção, que estará disponível na loja a partir de amanhã. Durante o dia ou numa saída à noite, para ir trabalhar ou ao fim-de-semana, uma écharpe é muito mais que um acessório.
A few months ago I found some very special fabrics. When I touched them and felt a fine, soft cotton, I immediately thought they’d be perfect as scarves. And so this small collection was born – it will be available in the shop tomorrow. For both day and night time outfits, to go to work or at the weekend, a scarf is much more than an accessory.

É claro que os lenços não são nem um acessório do passado, nem o exclusivo dos filmes e das celebridades – estas fotografias do blog The Sartorialist ilustram bem a maneira como as écharpes são usadas hoje em dia. Estas écharpes modernas tendem a ser de algodão muito fino e semi-transparente e o tamanho quer-se bastante generoso. Quanto à maneira de as usar… desde que transmita dinamismo e movimento, vale tudo.
It’s clear that scarves aren’t just an accessory from the past or an exclusive of films and celebrities – these pictures from The Sartorialist show us how they’re being worn nowadays. These modern scarves  tend to be made in sheer, lightweight cotton voiles and they’re usually quite large in size. As to how they’re worn, well, as long as it’s dynamic and playful, anything goes.

O Outono chegou em força aqui a estas partes e qualquer dia não há flor no jardim que resista ao mau tempo. A perspectiva de longos, frios e escuros meses sem flores em casa é desoladora, mas felizmente há uma maneira fácil de dar a volta ao tema: forçar bolbos! O processo é simples e, se tudo correr bem, no Ano Novo teremos jacintos, crocos, muscari e bluebells. Autumn has arrived in all its glory here in England and I’m afraid the bad weather will make all  the flowers in the garden disappear quite quickly. The idea of long, cold and dark months without any flowers at home is pretty sad but happily there an easy solution: forcing bulbs! The process is simple and if all goes well we’ll have plenty of hyacinths, crocuses, muscari and bluebells in the New Year.
