Esta birdie sling é uma faca de dois gumes: é enorme (felizmente sou alta), é pesada (deixei-me de entretelas termocolantes e afins e decidi substituir tudo por lona… sim, a lona envelhece melhor; claro, é mais natural; de facto, a textura é óptima… mas pesa!), demorou demasiadas horas a fazer… mas é tão gira, não é?

I have mixed feelings towards this birdie sling: it’s huge (but I’m tall so it’s not so bad), it’s heavy (I’m done with fusible interfacing and its friends and decided to replace everything with canvas… yes, canvas ages beautifully; sure, it’s much more natural; yeah, the texture is great… but it’s heavy!), it took much too long to sew… but it’s so cute, isn’t it?

oh, it’s beautiful. i’d also like to stop using interfacing so i’m interested in hearing your canvas alternative. i’ll definitely try it. the colours are so great. i just booked a trip to new york, as well… when are you going?

Hi Karyn! I’m going to NYC on Saturday, in 2 days 🙂 As far as interfacing is concerned, cotton flannel is also a good alternative and it gives a wonderful, soft touch to the item.Nice to see you around here! 🙂

Wow, your fabrics are spectacular! A perfect design to show off that large scale print.I too found the bag to be really big. I used sew in woven interfacing and thought it added too much weight as well. If I did another I might try a non-woven sew in just so it isn’t so heavy!
