Na semana passada, o Rodrigo e eu tivemos de ir a Auckland renovar os nossos passaportes. No aeroporto comprei este caderno Flow Book for Paper Lovers e estou encantada com ele. É uma edição especial da revista Flow e foi lançado no final de 2016, mas estas coisas chegam sempre à Nova Zelândia com alguns meses de atraso.

É um volume bastante grosso e, quando pego nele e lhe sinto o peso e a irregularidade da lombada, sinto-me transportada para outra dimensão, para um imaginário diferente… para um mundo analógico, talvez. Não que este caderno puxe excessivamente ao vintage, não é isso. Faz-me, sim, recordar um mundo sem distracções digitais, uma altura em que eu era muito mais nova e me deliciava com papel de carta, cadernos escolares, papel de lustro, livros forrados, etiquetas autocolantes, envelopes e papéis diários com diversas gramagens e texturas.

Já comecei a pô-lo a uso (escrevi uma carta com várias páginas a uma amiga) e sei que me irei divertir bastante com ele. Que boa descoberta!

Last week Rodrigo and I had to fly to Auckland in order to get our passports renewed. At the airport I stumbled upon this Flow Book for Paper Lovers and I’m smitten with it. It’s one of Flow magazine’s special editions and it came out at the end of 2016, but these things usually arrive in New Zealand with a few months’ delay.

It’s a thick volume and when I have it in my hands and feel its weight and the irregularity of its spine, I feel transported to another dimension… to an analog world, I guess. Not that this book plays the vintage card too much, it’s not that. It just makes me remember a world without any digital distractions, a time when I was a young girl who absolutely loved writing paper, school notebooks, books covered in colourful contact paper, name tags, envelopes and daily papers with different weights and textures.

I’ve already started using this book (I wrote a long letter to a friend) and I know I’m going to have lots of fun playing with it. What a lovely discovery!
