Costuras Inglesas :: French Seams

Hoje vou mostrar-vos como eu faço costuras inglesas. Costuras inglesas (curiosamente, em inglês chamam-se French seams) são costuras que são cosidas duas vezes: primeiro pelo direito e só depois pelo avesso, o que significa que as extremidades do tecido ficam escondidas. Dão mais trabalho do que as costuras normais, mas o resultado é resistente e muito elegante. Resultam bem em linhas direitas ou ligeiramente curvas e são especialmente indicadas para tecidos transparentes, mas eu, desde que aprendi a fazê-las, uso-as sempre que posso.
Today I’m going to show you how I sew French seams. French seams are sewn twice: first on the right side of the fabric and then on the wrong side of the fabric, which means that the raw edges get completely enclosed. There are a bit more work than regular seams but the result is hardwearing and very elegant. They work well in either straight or slightly curved lines and they’re especially suited for sheer fabrics, but ever since I learned how to make them, I use them at every opportunity.
1. Visto que as costuras inglesas são compostas por duas costuras, há que começar por calcular os dois valores/margens de costura. Gosto que a segunda costura fique com 0,5 cm (aprox. 1/4”), por isso, para ficar a saber o valor da primeira costura, subtraio este número (0,5 cm) ao valor de costura original. No caso deste vestido, os valores de costura são 1,5 cm, por isso tenho de fazer a primeira costura com 1 cm e a segunda com 0,5 cm. Em polegadas: costura original 5/8”, primeira costura com 3/8″ e segunda com 1/4”.
1. Since French seams are made of two seams, first you must calculate your two seam allowances. I like for the second seam to measure 0,5 cm (1/4”) so, in order to find out the first seam allowance, I subtract this number (0,5 cm or 1/4”) to the original seam allowance. In the case of this dress, the original seam allowance was 1,5 cm (5/8”), which means that I must sew the first seam 1 cm  (3/8”) from the edge of the fabric and the second seam 0,5 cm (1/4”) from the edge.
2. Montar a peça avesso com avesso (com o direito para fora — pode parecer contra-intuitivo, mas é assim que funciona) e colocar alfinetes. Coser a primeira costura com ponto corrido apertado (neste caso escolhi 2.0). Passar a ferro a costura tal como foi cosida (isto ajuda a estabilizar os pontos e faz com que as costuras fiquem mais direitas e bem acabadas).
2. Assemble the piece with wrong sides together (the right side of the fabric should be facing you —  this may seem counter-intuitive but it’s just how it works) and pin in place. Sew the first seam with a running stitch and a short stitch length (for this dress I chose 2.0). Press the seams as they have been sewn (this stabilises the stitching and gets rid of any puckering).

3. Aparar a extremidade do tecido o mais próximo possível da costura (cerca de 2 mm).
3. Trim the seam allowances as close to the stitching line as you can (about 2 mm or a scant 1/8”).
4. Abrir as costuras com o ferro (o facto de as costuras serem tão estreitas dificulta bastante o processo, por isso às vezes salto este passo).
4. Press the seam allowances open (the fact that the seams are now so narrow makes this hard so I sometimes skip this step).
5. Virar a peça para o avesso, alinhar bem as costuras e passá-las a ferro. 
5. Turn the piece inside out and then fold the seams with right sides together and press.

6. Coser a 0,5 cm (1/4”) da extremidade do tecido. Voltar a engomar as costuras. No caso deste vestido, depois tombei as costuras na direcção das costas. Já está!

6. Sew 0,5 cm (1/4”) from the edge of the fabric. Press again. In this particular dress, I then pressed the seams towards the back. That’s it!

Granola

Há uns anos falei-vos na granola que faço cá em casa. Na altura não partilhei a receita, porque tenho sempre algum pudor em publicar no blog receitas de livros (e muitas dúvidas acerca de temas como autorizações e direitos de autor). Mas, quando há uns dias voltei a fazer granola (depois de mais de um ano de intervalo), apercebi-me de que tenho feito bastantes adaptações à receita original… por isso hoje deixo-vos aqui a minha versão de granola caseira:
Granola (receita adaptada do livro “Gifts from the Kitchen”, de Annie Rigg)
400 g de aveia
100 g de amêndoas
100 g de nozes
100 g de sementes de girassol
100 g de sementes de abóbora
50 g de sementes de sésamo
4 colheres de sopa de óleo de girassol
300 g de mel
1. Aquecer o forno a 180ºC.
2. Cortar as amêndoas e as nozes em bocados.
3. Juntar as amêndoas, as nozes, a aveia e todas as sementes numa taça grande. Mexer, para que fique tudo bem distribuído.
4. Num púcaro/pequeno tacho, aquecer um pouco o mel e o óleo, sem deixar que levante fervura.
5. Deitar a mistura do mel e do óleo na taça e envolver bem com uma colher de pau.
6. Forrar um tabuleiro grande com papel vegetal e deitar lá para dentro o misturado. 
7. Colocar no forno e vigiar como um falcão! Dependendo dos fornos, a granola estará pronta ao fim de 20-30 minutos, mas aproximadamente de 5 em 5 minutos terá de ser mexida com a colher de pau, para que fique tostada uniformemente (acreditem em mim… já a deixei queimar umas vezes!). Retirar do forno assim que estiver toda dourada.
8. Deixar arrefecer e colocar dentro de um frasco ou de uma lata/caixa de folha.
Eu gosto de comer granola com iogurte natural e (às vezes) raspas de chocolate preto… é perfeito a meio da manhã ou ao lanche!
A few years ago I showed you my homemade granola. At the time I didn’t share the recipe for it because I’m always a bit reluctant to post recipes from books on my blog as I worry about things like asking permission and copyright issues. However, when I made granola again a couple of days ago I realised that I’ve been adapting the recipe quite a bit over the years… so here’s my version:

Granola (recipe adapted from the book “Gifts from the Kitchen” by Annie Rigg)

400 g rolled oats
100 g almonds
100 g hazelnuts
100 g pumpkin seeds
100 g sunflower seeds
50 g sesame seeds
4 tablespoons sunflower oil
300 g runny honey

1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC.

2. Roughly chop the almonds and hazelnuts.

3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the almonds, hazelnuts, oats and all the seeds. Mix until combined.

4. Heat the sunflower oil and the honey in a small pan. Be careful not to let it start boiling.

5. Pour that mixture into the mixing bowl and stir with a wooden spoon.

6. Cover a large roasting tin with a sheet of baking paper and tip the granola into it.

7. Place the tin in the oven and watch it like a hawk! It’ll need to cook for about 20-30 minutes, depending on the oven you’re using, but you’ll have to stir it every 5 minutes or so to ensure that everything is browning evenly (I’ve let it burn a few times before so trust me on this!). Remove from the oven once it’s all golden.

8. Leave to cool completely and then place it inside a glass jar or tin.

I like eating it over natural yoghurt as a mid-morning or afternoon snack… sometimes I’ll throw in some dark chocolate chips to spice it up a bit!

Como Fazer Capa de Édredon + Fronha :: How to Sew a Toddler Duvet Cover + Pillowcase

Lembram-se da capa de édredon e fronha que fiz para a cama do Rodrigo? A capa fica aberta em baixo e é ligeiramente mais comprida do que o édredon, o que a permite entalar com facilidade debaixo do colchão. A fronha fecha como um envelope. Aqui ficam as instruções para fazer igual:
Remember the duvet cover and pillowcase I made for Rodrigo’s crib? The duvet cover is open on the bottom and it’s slightly longer than the duvet itself, which makes it easy to tuck the ends under the mattress. The pillowcase has a simple envelope closure. Here’s a tutorial for you:


Materiais (para uma capa de édredon para cama de grades + uma fronha para uma almofada de 30 x 40 cm)
3,50 m de tecido com 1,10 m de largura
fita métrica/régua
tesoura
linha
máquina de costura
ferro de engomar
Materials (for a crib-sized duvet cover and a 30 x 40 cm pillowcase)
3,50 m of fabric that is 1,10 m wide
tape measure/ruler
thread
fabric scissors
sewing machine
iron


Para fazer a capa de édredon:
To make the duvet cover:
1. Cortar 2 rectângulos de tecido com 1,50 de comprimento. Não mexer na largura do tecido (manter as ourelas intactas).
1. Cut 2 rectangles of fabric, each 1,50 m long. Do not touch the width of the fabric (don’t trim the selvedges).

2. Colocar os 2 rectângulos no chão, direito com direito, tendo o cuidado de alinhar bem as ourelas.
2. Place the 2 rectangles on the floor with right sides together, making sure the selvedges are aligned.

3. Acertar as partes de cima e de baixo com uma régua, de maneira a que fiquem direitas. Cortar.
3. Square off the top and bottom (use a ruler and trace a line, then cut).
4. Prender com alfinetes os lados e a parte de cima e coser a toda a volta a 2 cm da borda, deixando a parte de baixo aberta.
4. Pin along the top and sides and sew all around using a 2 cm seam allowance. Do not sew the bottom!

5. Chulear a parte de cima. Virar para o direito e engomar.
5. Zig-zag the top raw edge. Turn right side out and press.

6. Dobrar a parte de baixo 1 cm e vincar com o ferro. Voltar a dobrar 1,5 cm, vincar com o ferro e pespontar. Engomar. Já está!
6. Fold the bottom edge 1 cm and press it. Fold it again 1,5 cm, press and edgestitch all around it. Press. You’re done!

Para fazer a fronha:
To make the pillowcase:
1. Cortar um rectângulo de tecido com 100 x 31 cm, mantendo uma das ourelas intactas (atenção que estas medidas são para uma almofada de 30 x 40 cm).
1. Cut a rectangle of fabric measuring 100 x 31 cm, leaving one of the selvedges uncut (keep in mind that these measurements are for a 30 x 40 cm pillow).

2. Pegar no lado que tem a ourela e, com o avesso virado para cima, fazer uma dobra com 6 cm. Vincar a dobra com o ferro e pespontar. Dobrar o outro lado 1 cm e vincar com o ferro; dobrá-lo novamente 1 cm, voltar a vincar com o ferro e pespontar.
2. Take the side with the selvedge and place it with the wrong side up. Fold the selvedge edge 6 cm, press in place and edgestitch. Take the other side, fold the edge 1 cm and press it place; fold it again 1 cm, press and edgestitch. 

3. Colocar o rectângulo em cima de uma superfície plana, com o direito do tecido virado para cima. Medir 12 cm a partir da extremidade que não tem a ourela e dobrar a outra extremidade do rectângulo até esse ponto — isto significa que estará a fazer uma dobra com 40 cm (o comprimento da almofada). Em seguida, dobrar a parte que resta do rectângulo, colocando-a por cima daquilo que já foi dobrado  (ver imagens abaixo). 
3. Place the rectangle on top of a flat surface with the right side of the fabric facing up. Measure 12 cm from the end that has no selvedge. Grab the other end and fold it upwards up to the point where it meets the 12 cm you just measured — this means you’ll be folding it 40 cm (the length of the pillow). Then fold down the other end, placing it on top of the end that you just folded (see pictures below).

4. Prender os lados do rectângulo com alfinetes e cosê-los a 0,5 cm da borda. Chulear as bordas. Virar a fronha para o direito e passá-la a ferro. Já está!
4. Pin the sides of the rectangle and stitch them using a 0,5 cm seam allowance. Zig-zag the raw edges. Turn the pillowcase right side out and press. That’s it!

Fazer uma Mochila de Praia para Criança :: Make a Toddler Beach Backpack

Nestas férias o Rodrigo teve o privilégio de ser ele a carregar os baldes, formas e pás de praia numa mochila feita especialmente para o efeito. Nada como encorajar a independência e responsabilidade desde tenra idade! A mochila é fácil de fazer e hoje vou mostrar-vos o processo passo-a-passo.
During our summer holidays Rodrigo had the privilege of carrying his beach paraphernalia himself. There’s nothing like encouraging independence and responsibility from a young age! This beach backpack is easy to make — here’s how:
Mochila de Praia para Criança
Materiais
0,5 m de tecido de algodão grosso
3,20 m de cordão de algodão
lápis/caneta
alfinetes
tesoura
linha
máquina de costura
Toddler Beach Backpack

Materials
0,5 m thick cotton fabric
3,20 m cotton cord
pencil/pen
pins
scissors
thread
sewing machine

1. Cortar dois rectângulos de tecido com 45 cm de comprimento e 40 cm de largura. 
1. Cut two rectangles of fabric 45 cm long and 40 cm wide.

2. Chulear as bordas.
2. Zig-zag the raw edges.

3. Marcar, de cada lado, dois pontos: o primeiro a 5 cm a contar de cima, o segundo a 1 cm a contar de baixo.
3. Mark two points on each side: one 5 cm from the top and another 1 cm from the bottom.


4. Cortar dois bocados de cordão com 8 cm cada.

4. Cut two pieces of cord measuring 8 cm each.

5. Dobrá-los ao meio e prendê-los com alfinetes entre os dois rectângulos de tecido (direito contra direito), a 1 cm da parte de baixo, com as argolas para dentro.
5. Fold them in half and pin them in between the two fabric panels (right sides together), 1 cm from the bottom, with the loops facing the inside.
6. Prender com alfinetes os lados e o fundo do saco e coser a toda a volta, a 0,5 cm da borda, começando e parando nos pontos que marcou a 5 cm da parte de cima do saco. Reforçar as costuras em cima do cordão. Cuidado para não coser as argolas!
6. Pin the sides and bottom of the bag and stitch all the way around, using a 0,5 cm seam allowance.
Start and stop on those marks that are 5 cm from the top. Stitch a few times over the cord and make sure you don’t sew over the loops! 

7. Abrir as costuras com o ferro, vincando também as extremidades que ficaram por coser no seguimento das costuras.
7. Press the seams open and also press the ends of the fabric that wasn’t sewn, following the stitch lines you’ve just made.

8. Dobrar as partes de cima do saco 0,5 cm e vincar com o ferro. Voltar a dobrá-las 2 cm e vincar com o ferro.
8. Fold the unsewn top edges of the bag 0,5 cm towards the wrong side of the fabric and press. Fold them over another 2 cm and press.

9. Pespontar as dobras junto às extremidades, de maneira a formar um canal para o cordão.
9. Sew along the edges of the hem you’ve just created in order to make a channel for the drawstring.

10. Virar o saco do direito e passá-lo a ferro.
10. Turn the bag right side out and press.

11. Cortar dois bocados de cordão com 1,50 m cada. Com a ajuda de um alfinete-de-ana ou de uma agulha especial, enfiar o primeiro cordão através do canal. Dar a volta ao saco com o cordão e ajustá-lo para que ambas as extremidades fiquem com o mesmo comprimento. Passar uma das extremidades pela argola lá em baixo e dar um nó nas duas pontas. Repetir com o segundo cordão, começando a enfiá-lo do lado oposto ao primeiro.
11. Cut two lengths of cord measuring 1,50 m each. Using a safety pin or a bodkin, insert the cord through the channel on one side of the bag and then back around the other side. Pull the cord through so that the pieces are even and thread one end through the loop on the bottom of the bag. Tie a knot. Repeat with the other piece of cord, starting on the opposite side.

12. Já está!

Joelheiras Redondas :: Round Knee Pads

O Rodrigo gatinhou até muito tarde e, claro, os sapatos e as calças ressentiram-se disso. Nos sapatos não há muito a fazer, mas nas calças a solução é simples: joelheiras. Achei que teria graça aplicar umas joelheiras redondas em vez das tradicionais ovais. Mais uma vez, o processo não poderia ser mais simples e rápido (o facto de as calças terem molas entre as pernas ajudou bastante, confesso) — eis como o fiz:

Rodrigo crawled until quite late and, consequently, his shoes and trousers show it. I can’t do much about the shoes but as far as trousers go, there’s a very simple solution: knee pads. I thought it would be fun to sew some round knee pads instead of the traditional oval ones. Again, the process is very simple and quick (the fact that the trousers have snaps on the legs helped a lot, I must say) — here’s how I’ve done it:

1. Com a ajuda de um compasso (o meu ainda vem dos tempos do colégio), desenhar num papel uma circunferência com o tamanho ideal para a largura das pernas das calças. Recortar o papel e usá-lo como molde para cortar dois círculos de tecido.

1. Using a compass (mine is still the same one from my school days), trace a circle that fits the width of the trousers’ legs onto a piece of paper. Cut it and use it as a template to cut your fabric knee pads.

2. Cortar dois círculos de entretela termocolante para appliqué.

2. Use the same template to cut two circles of appliqué fusible web.

3. Colocar um círculo de tecido por cima de um círculo de entretela e aplicá-los com o ferro de engomar. Fazer o mesmo na outra perna.
3. Place the fabric table on top of the fusible web circle and fuse them together on each leg.

4. Coser à volta de cada joelheira com ponto zigzag. Eu utilizei uma linha grossa para pespontar.
4. Using a zigzag stitch, sew around the raw edges of the circles. I used a thicker thread for contrast.

5. Com a ajuda de um abre-casas, puxar as linhas de cima para o avesso das calças e rematar com dois ou três nós. 
5. With the help of your seam ripper, pull the top threads to the wrong side of the trousers and tie two or three knots.

6. Já está! Há obviamente outras maneiras de aplicar joelheiras, mas isto foi o que fiz e resultou. Espero que durem uns meses!

6. That’s it! There’s obviously other ways to construct and sew knee pads but this is what I’ve done and it has worked fine. I hope they’ll last for a few months!

Pendurar um Quilt na Parede :: Hanging a Quilt on the Wall

Há muitas maneiras de pendurar um quilt na parede — hoje vou falar-vos da forma como nós colocámos o quilt mapa-mundi no quarto do Rodrigo. Não gosto especialmente de ver varões a sair dos lados dos quilts, por isso o que fiz foi:
1. Fazer um tubo de tecido ligeiramente mais curto do que a largura do quilt e cosê-lo à mão na parte de trás do quilt;
2. Cortar um daqueles paus de madeira que há à venda nas lojas de bricolage com o mesmo comprimento do que o tubo de tecido (ok, esta parte de cortar coube ao Tiago);
3. Fazer dois cortes no dito tubo de tecido (o Tiago, autor desta engenhosa ideia dos cortes, sugeriu que eu fizesse duas bonitas casas de botões, mas fui preguiçosa e limitei-me a cortar o tecido com uma tesoura);
4. Enroscar dois camarões grandes na parede (alinhados com os tais cortes) — os cortes estão lá para que o pau de madeira possa entrar nos camarões.
Isto assim descrito parece um bocado confuso, mas as fotografias ajudam a perceber o esquema.
PS. Deram pelo soupçon de barra de papel de parede na última fotografia? Daí para cima a parede é branca (amarelada). Um dia será toda ela alva… (este tom de verde podia ser pior, é certo, e nem me choca assim tanto, mas é extremamente cansativo)
There are many ways to hang a quilt on a wall — today I’m going to talk to you about how we hung the world map quilt on Rodrigo’s bedroom. I don’t particularly like it when you can see the rod sticking out at the sides of the quilt so here’s what we did:

1. Sew up a fabric tube slightly shorter than the quilt’s width and hand-stitch it to the back of the quilt;
2. Buy one of those wooden dowels that are sold at DIY stores and cut it to match the length of the fabric tube (ok, Tiago performed the cutting bit);
3. Make two slashes on the fabric tube (Tiago, the author of this ingenious solution, suggested I made two beautiful buttonholes but I was lazy and just cut them with a pair of scissors);
4. Screw two hooks on the wall, making sure they are aligned with those slashes — the slashes are there so that the dowel can get inside the hooks.

I realise that I’m not explaining this very well but hopefully the pictures will make it easier for you to understand our scheme.

PS. Did you notice that soupçon of wallpaper border in the last picture? After that the wall is cream right up to the ceiling. I’m hoping to paint everything white in the near future (I know this green could be a lot worse but it does get a bit wearing after some time).

Molas para Mudar Fraldas :: How to Add Snaps for Easy Nappy Changing

Não é novidade nenhuma que passo a vida em lojas de caridade, feiras e todo o tipo de vendas de artigos em segunda-mão. Estou sempre atenta a possíveis peças de roupa para o Rodrigo — em Inglaterra ainda consegui comprar uma mão-cheia delas, aqui tem sido mais difícil. Mas há uns tempos deparei-me com estas jardineiras tamanho 2 anos. São simples, alegres, bem feitas e as pernas em balão até têm graça (acho que é suposto serem calções, mas ele vai usando como calças até que chegue o Verão). Só tinham um problema: nada de molas entre pernas para mudar as fraldas.
Mas é para isto mesmo que serve uma máquina de costura, não é? Para nos libertar da tirania do pronto-a-vestir! I’ve got the power! Esta transformação foi muito fácil, mas mesmo assim lembrei-me de tirar fotografias passo-a-passo para vos poder mostrar como isto não tem nada que saber. Ora vejam só:
You already know I’m always looking for interesting second-hand items in charity shops, fairs and the like. One of the things on my radar is clothing for Rodrigo — in England I managed to find a handful of nice pieces but here in New Zealand it’s not as easy. Anyway, a while ago I stumbled upon this pair of dungarees size 2. They’re simple, cheerful, well-made and the puffed legs are kind of cute (I think they’re supposed to be worn as shorts but at present he’ll be wearing them as trousers). They only had a problem: no snaps for easy nappy changing.

But that’s what a sewing machine is for, right? To free us from the tyranny of ready-to-wear? I’ve got the power! This was such an easy transformation but nevertheless I took some photos in order to show you how simple it is. Here goes:
1. Descoser a costura entre pernas e um bocado das bainhas. 
1. Unpick the seam between the legs as well as a little bit from the hem.

2. Dobrar as margens de costura entre pernas e refazer as bainhas.
2. Turn the seam allowances under and re-stitch the hems.

3. Passar a ferro as margens de costura entre pernas.

3. Press the seam allowances flat.

4. Cortar dois bocados de fita de molas à medida.

4. Cut two pieces of snap tape to measure.

5. Alfinetar e coser a toda a volta da fita, usando um pé calcador para fechos éclair. Atenção que a fita vai ser aplicada de um lado do direito e de outro do avesso das jardineiras. Eu usei linha branca em cima e azul-escura em baixo.
5. Pin and stitch all around the snap tape using a zipper foot. Take notice that on side the tape will be sewn on the wrong side of the dungarees, whilst on the other it’ll be sewn on the right side. I used white thread on top and navy blue on the bottom.

6. Já está! Claro que em vez de fita de molas, podia ter usado molas de pressão, molas de coser ou até mesmo botões. 
6. You’re done! Instead of snap tape you could use press studs, sew-in snaps or even buttons.

Guarda-Sacos :: Scrappy Grocery Bag Dispenser

Eis uma ideia para simultaneamente utilizar pequenos retalhos de tecido e guardar os sacos de plástico de supermercado (que, por muito que nos esforcemos, acabam por entrar em nossas casas) — podem ver as explicações passo-a-passo aqui.

Transformar uma Camisa de Bebé num Body :: Baby Shirt Bodysuit Tutorial

Como houve quem me tivesse pedido mais pormenores sobre a camisa-body de bebé, resolvi fotografar o processo para que vejam como é fácil e rápido transformar uma camisa de bebé num body. Esta é uma solução muito simples para que a barriga e as costas dos bebés nunca fiquem destapadas por muito que se mexam ou quando lhes pegamos ao colo.

1 camisa de bebé em algodão já feita
1 body de malha (compre um que seja barato)
linha branca
agulha para máquina, tamanho 100
alfinetes

Since some of you have asked me for more details on how to make a baby shirt-bodysuit, I’ve decided to write up a quick tutorial so you can see how simple it is to do it. This is a great solution to keep babies’ tummies and backs always safely tucked in their clothes, no matter how much they wriggle around.

You’ll need
1 cotton baby shirt (already made)
1 cotton jersey bodysuit (buy a cheap one)
white thread
needle for sewing machine (size 100)
pins
sewing machine
1. Meça o tronco do bebé (do pescoço até entre as pernas, fralda incluída) e a esse valor acrescente 5 cm. Agora meça a altura da camisa. Subtraia o valor da camisa ao valor total (tronco do bebé + 5 cm). Use o resultado como medida para cortar a parte de baixo do body.
1. Mesure the lenght of your baby’s body, from the neck all through between the legs, nappy included. Add 5 cm. Now measure the length of the shirt. Subtract this from the first number (baby’s body + 5 cm). Use this result as the measurement to cut the bottom part of the bodysuit.

2. Feche a parte de trás da camisa com uns quantos pontos cosidos à máquina.
2. Close the shirt at the back by sewing a few stitches with your sewing machine.

3. Coloque um alfinete a meio da bainha da camisa, tanto na parte da frente como na de trás. Faça o mesmo à parte de baixo do body.
3. Place a pin to the middle front of the finished edge of the shirt and then to the middle back. Do the same thing to the raw edge of the bodysuit.

4. Direito contra direito, alinhe os alfinetes que acabou de colocar e as costuras do meio e prenda com alfinetes. Vá colocando alfinetes a toda a volta (é capaz de ter de esticar ligeiramente o body).
4. Right sides together, match the pins and the side seams of the shirt and bodysuit. Pin all the way around them (you might have to slightly stretch the bodysuit).

5. Cosa à máquina usando 1 cm como margem de costura. Passe a costura (ainda do avesso) a ferro para estabilizar os pontos.
5. Stitch all the way around using a 1 cm seam allowance. Press the seam as sewn (still on the wrong side of the fabrics) in order to stabilise the stitches.
6. Já do direito, engome a costura no sentido do body.
6. On right side of fabrics, press the seam towards the bodysuit.

7. Pesponte a 0,5 cm da costura.
7. Topstitch 0.5 cm from seam.

8. Já está!
