Um dos aspectos de que mais gosto no meu trabalho é a diversidade, uma diversidade por vezes surpreendente. Como, por exemplo, aquele dia em que recebi um e-mail de uma fotógrafa neerlandesa que propunha tirar fotografias às minhas carteiras em ambientes inesperados. Quem diria que, uns meses mais tarde, seríamos tão bem acolhidas por três gerações de mulheres num velho quarto andar no Chiado?
One of the aspects of my job I treasure the most is the surprising diversity of it all. Like, for instance, that day when I got an email from a Dutch photographer who told me she’d like to photograph my bags in unexpected environments. Who would have guessed that, some months after that, we’d be welcomed by three generations of women in an old Chiado flat?
Se eu conseguisse escrever de forma mais emotiva, poder-vos-ia contar como o tempo que passei naquelas águas-furtadas lisboetas me afectou. Falar-vos-ia de hospitalidade, simplicidade e humanidade. Transmitir-vos-ia a paz que lá senti. Assim sendo, mostro-vos imagens, relances do que por lá se passou.
If I were able to write in a more emotional way, I would tell you how the time spent in that Lisbon attic moved me. I would tell you about hospitality, simplicity and humanity. I would transmit the peace I felt over there. Since I can’t write about it, I’m showing you some pictures, snapshots of what went on.

Claudia van Luijk tirou, oito estão expostas na livraria
Fabula Urbis, mesmo ao pé da Sé de Lisboa. A inauguração da exposição (que conta também com outros trabalhos que a Claudia desenvolveu durante a sua estadia de seis meses em Lisboa) é hoje, às sete da tarde, e estão todos convidados. A exposição estará patente durante todo o mês de Julho.
Amongst the dozens and dozens of photos Claudia van Luijk took, eight are being shown at Fabula Urbis, a bookshop here in Lisbon. The opening of the exhibition (containing some of the work Claudia developed while she was living in Lisbon for six months) is today at 7 pm and you are all invited. The exhibition will be running through the entire month of July.
Este é, sem dúvida, um dos encantos do mundo do feito à mão. Um mundo onde pessoas autênticas se encontram.
This is, without doubt, one of the wonders of the handmade world. A world where authentic people come together.
