São horas e horas de gravações sobre vida familiar, História, literatura, saúde, casa e jardim, política, sociedade, trabalho… em que as mulheres constituem sempre o objecto principal das conversas. Há entrevistas, excertos de livros, testemunhos pessoais. A Woman’s Hour é a minha companhia diária enquanto coso, coso, coso. Entre os meus episódios preferidos, contam-se The Quilter’s Guild of Great Britain, Anniversary of the sewing machine e Quilts (sobre os quilts de Gee’s Bend). Mas há muitos mais: vale mesmo a pena explorar!

It’s hours and hours of recordings of talks about family life, History, literature, home and garden, politics, society, work… and women are always the main object. There are interviews, book excerpts and testimonials. Woman’s Hour keeps me company while I sew, sew, sew. Amongst my favourite programs are The Quilter’s Guild of Great Britain, Anniversary of the sewing machine e Quilts (about Gee’s Bend). But there’s much more to it: do take a look!

Venho da exposição dedicada a Henri Fantin-Latour especialmente impressionada e inspirada pelas suas naturezas mortas. Lembraram-me os arranjos florais da Saipua e o trabalho dos melhores prop stylists do momento. Que mestre extraordinário!

I just came from the Henri Fantin-Latour exibition and I’m utterly impressed and inspired by his still lives. They remind me of Saipua‘s floral arrangements and of the work of the best prop stylists of the moment. What an extraordinary master!

Novo esquema cromático preferido: cinzento, branco e azul-esverdeado. Quando tiver uma casa nova para decorar, tenciono dedicar um quarto a este tema.

A propósito dos romances a sorteio, hoje é dia de vestidos estilo Regência.  Escolhi alguns vestidos que integram a colecção do Museu da Moda de Bath, cidade onde Jane Austen viveu durante alguns anos.

Hoje escolhi imagens de vestidos na minha combinação cromática preferida: preto e branco. Para mim, juntar preto e branco na mesma toilette, para além de constituir sempre uma aposta segura, significa distinção, sobriedade e, sobretudo, intemporalidade.

Today I chose some pictures of dresses in my favourite colour scheme: black and white. As far as I’m concerned, combining black and white in one outfit means not only that you’re playing it safe, but also elegance, austerity and, above all, a timeless style.
