Martha’s crafts

Yesterday evening I took the time of watching several how-to crafts videos available on Martha Stewart “video library”. Although she gets on my nervs most of the times, she does present nice projects. And I love the spirit of homemade gifts, like this new homeowner’s welcoming gift (very American, in the best sense!)…
Or this baby shower by mail (version hometown box)…

Oh, and this felted knitting basket (recycling an old jumper)!

Objects of desire I

The loveliest shop: Labour and Wait (18 Cheshire St, London).
The objects I want:I’ve looked all over Lisbon searching for a milk pan just like this one in order to make hot cocoa… (I’m a big fan of enamel).
This bread box which is exactly the same as my grandmother’s (an original box from the 50’s).
And what about this ostrich feather duster? Quite luxurious!

“What is Craftster? Craftster is a forum for people who love to make things but who are not inspired by cross-stitched home sweet home plaques and wooden boxes with ducks in bonnets painted on…”
Right on the spot!

Crafty wannabe

I’ve always loved decoration and craft books; I enjoy offering presents that are nicely wraped. I like Martha Stewart’s website. My mum cooks, sews, knits… But my real enthousiasm for the crafty world was born in London a month ago. In the same day I bought the book Home-Made Vintage and I went in Cat Kidston’s shop in King’s Road. A week later (back in Lisbon), I went to my first crafts fair, where I realised that there’s a crafty community that makes lovely, witty things. Now I’m addicted to crafty blogs all over the world; all I want is to try every single project and to cover my friends with gifts!
